Peanut Butter Banana Cake with Whipped Ganache Recipe

A moist and delicious banana cake is filled and frosted with a rich peanut butter buttercream and drizzled with chocolate ganache and topped with a fluffy whipped ganache.


3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups bananas, mashed (about 4 medium)
1/2 cup butter, room temp
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup buttermilk

1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
1 (16-18 oz) container peanut butter
5 cups powdered sugar

1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream


  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Line the bottoms of 2 9" cake pans with parchment paper and spray pans with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.
